Notification Form for personal data
Sikt's Notification Form is an online form for researchers and students working with personal data in their research projects. We will then assess the processing of personal data you have planned and help you meet requirements in data protection legislation.
Who must submit a Notfication Form?
As a student or researcher, you should notify your project to Sikt if:
- You will process personal data in connection with a research project,
- and the institution you belong to has an agreement with Sikt for Data Protection Services.
The form should be sent in no later than 30 days before data collection starts.
Wait for an assessment from Sikt before you start collecting personal data.
If the project will only use anonymous data, you should not notify it to Sikt.

Why do I have to notify the project to Sikt?<br>
Your institution is required to document all processing of personal data that takes place at the institution. Many research institutions use Sikt's Data Protection Services to assist them with this. The notification of the project provides an overview of processing that takes place for research purposes.
